Job Description

Job Purpose 

The Lead Outpatient Site Therapist is responsible for clinically guiding the day-to-day operations of his/her assigned Outlying Behavioral Health Clinic (BHC) in collaboration with the leading Site Clinical Manager and will provide quality individual/group therapy to person(s)-served. 

Qualifications                              

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related Field.  
  • Must have all necessary course work and meet all the requirements to be licensed within the State of Missouri, at a minimum be eligible to begin supervision.  
  • Must meet the Department of Mental Health’s Criteria for Qualified Mental Health Professional.

Core Job Duties 

  • Communicate issues and concerns, provide feedback and recommendations to direct supervisor on a regular basis. 
  • Facilitate the day-to-day program/clinic operations.  
  • Identify and address any front-line treatment/service issues (access, efficiency, effectiveness, experience) as they arise. 
  • Participate in and organize community events/activities with the collaboration and approval from direct supervisor. 
  • Conducts individual, family, and group therapy sessions with assigned person (s) – served and/or the person (s)- served family.  
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all civil involuntary detention procedures. 
  • Conducts initial assessments to determine appropriate level of care  
  • Provide crisis interventions to person(s)-served  
  • Provide weekly reports in staffing about new person(s)-served admissions and person(s)-served receiving, therapeutic services that require team advice.   
  • Development of the individualized recovery care plan for assigned consumers with SMART goals, objectives, and interventions.  
  • Discharge/Transition/Aftercare Summary completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models. 
  • Orally communicate information effectively and accurately. 
  • Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.                                           
  • Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.
  • Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
