    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides evaluation, consultation, and direct therapy services to students with disabilities in order to support their ability to participate fully in the educational environment. The OT works collaboratively with teachers, administrators, parents, and other related service providers to develop and implement individualized programs that promote student independence, functional performance, and access to the curriculum.

    Essential Functions

    • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations using standardized and non-standardized assessment tools
    • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with student IEP goals
    • Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students
    • Collaborate with special education staff, general education teachers, and related service providers to support student needs
    • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of goals and accommodations
    • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal requirements
    • Recommend adaptive equipment and assistive technology as appropriate
    • Train staff and parents on strategies to support student success in school and home environments
    • Ensure compliance with IDEA and other applicable laws and regulations
    • Maintain a safe and organized therapy environment
    • Perform other duties as assigned by administration
    • Maintain professionalism with staff members.
    • Report to the proper authorities any cases of suspected child endangerment, neglect, or abuse.
    • Adhere to all policies of the District.

     

    SKILLS & ABILITIES            

            Education:    Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution

            Experience: Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred.

    Experience working with students with a variety of disabilities, including developmental delays, autism, and physical impairments preferred

     

            Computer Skills: Shall be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of proficiency 

                                    with computers and programs associated with the position.                                                        

              Certifications & Licenses: Current Arkansas Occupational Therapy License 

     

     

    Other Requirements: 

    1. Successful completion of pre-employment background checks.
