    We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Orchestra Teacher to join our innovative and student-centered music education team. The ideal candidate will foster a love of music in students, provide a strong foundation in musical concepts and skills, and inspire creativity and critical thinking. This role involves teaching orchestra students in grades 3-6, with a focus on string instruments, while collaborating with fellow educators to support a comprehensive K-12 music program.

    Salary: Briarcliff Teachers' Association Collective Bargaining Agreement

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Deliver engaging, student-centered instruction in the orchestra program, using technology to enhance learning and incorporating project/problem-based activities.
    • Collaborate with K-12 Music teachers to support general music, band, and choral programs.
    • Teach one section of Grade 6 orchestra at the middle school, with the remainder of the schedule based at Todd Elementary.
    • Promote digital literacy, critical thinking, problem-solving, and responsible decision-making skills in the classroom.
    • Incorporate social-emotional learning (SEL) practices into daily instruction to support student well-being.
    • Prepare students for performances, including concerts and other school events, fostering confidence and teamwork.
    • Build positive relationships with students of all skill and ability levels, exuding a joy of learning and enthusiasm for music.
    • Collaborate productively with faculty, students, and parents to create a supportive learning community.
