What you do at AMD changes everything

At AMD, we push the boundaries of what is possible.  We believe in changing the world for the better by driving innovation in high-performance computing, graphics, and visualization technologies – building blocks for gaming, immersive platforms, and the data center.

Developing great technology takes more than talent: it takes amazing people who understand collaboration, respect, and who will go the “extra mile” to achieve unthinkable results.  It takes people who have the passion and desire to disrupt the status quo, push boundaries, deliver innovation, and change the world.   If you have this type of passion, we invite you to take a look at the opportunities available to come join our team.

The AMD Server Power and Performance Optimization team is looking for DevOps Engineer to support automation and automation infrastructure.  The DevOps team in SPPO focuses on automating OS builds, OS deployment, OS configuration management, benchmark/workload deployment, benchmark/workload execution, and results uploading.  We also support tools written by SPPO’s software developers.

Candidates should have experience with Linux, Windows Server, REST APIs, and Ansible.

What you will do:

  • Deliver an outstanding service and application experience for users of our Power and Performance automation
  • Have an outsized impact in a hardware-focused environment where automation is a top priority
  • Work with workload owners to define requirements and write Ansible code to automate said workloads
  • Support SPPO automation infrastructure
  • Execute projects to improve and extend our capabilities
  • Introduce and support Bangalore engineers to/on SPPO’s automation stack
  • Act as a Windows SME to primarily Linux-focused hardware engineers
  • Automate absolutely everything possible

Required Skills:

  • Windows PowerShell
  • Windows Server expertise
  • Ansible
  • Willingness to learn
  • Strong communications skills. Ability to summarize complex problems for non-software types as well as drill down with architects and software engineers
  • Strong analytic skills including the ability to recognize or identify trends
  • Comfortable setting up bare metal servers and installing operating systems
  • Must be a self-starter and self-motivated
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience

Nice To Have:
