Assistant Manager – Scheduling & On-Air Presentation

Role Overview:
The Scheduling & On-Air Presentation role is responsible for planning and executing the channel’s daily and long-term content schedule while ensuring smooth on-air presentation and brand consistency. The role requires coordination across programming, marketing, promo, graphics, sales, and broadcast operations to ensure accurate and effective channel output.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage daily / weekly / monthly programming schedules in line with channel strategy.
- Ensure accurate placement of:
- Programs
- Promos
- Commercial breaks
- Interstitials
- Channel branding elements
- Coordinate with Programming, Creative, Sales, Operations, and Traffic teams for schedule execution.
- Manage on-air presentation elements including bugs, lower-thirds, promos, countdowns, and branding placements.
- Ensure smooth channel flow and consistency in viewer experience.
- Monitor schedule changes due to special events, launches, sponsorships, or programming revisions.
- Support execution of stunt scheduling, campaign launches, and special programming blocks.
- Maintain scheduling accuracy and update systems as per final transmission plans.
- Track and ensure timely delivery of all on-air assets required for execution.
- Troubleshoot scheduling conflicts and coordinate with relevant teams to resolve operational issues.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Media, Mass Communication, Broadcast, or related field.
- 6+ of relevant experience in channel scheduling, programming operations, or on-air presentation.
- Good understanding of television programming strategy and broadcast workflows.
- Strong planning, coordination, and execution skills.
- Ability to work with scheduling tools / broadcast planning systems.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple moving parts.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in regional / entertainment / GEC / movie channels.
- Understanding of promo inventory and ad / content flow.
- Familiarity with Tamil language content planning is an added advantage.
