Under minimal supervision, as the Senior Contract Accountant coordinates financial activities for assigned local, state, and federal contracts by assisting in contract management subsequent to the instrument being executed and signed.  Contract management includes the preparation of financial reports; preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end audit schedules; completing account reconciliations and roll-forward schedules that ensure the integrity of the financial data maintained and reported by the organization.  The Senior Contract Accountant is responsible for ensuring that both financial activity and operational activity is reflected accurately and correctly for contracts and will make prudent decisions that are timely, well researched, and reflect awareness of impact.  

 

Minimum qualifications:  

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Defined Education: Accounting, Finance or Business Administration

Preferences: Advanced knowledge of computer systems and Microsoft Office Suite; Government accounting experience

Substitutions: None

Years’ Experience: Five (5) years

Defined Experience: Accounting, Finance, or Business related field

License/Certifications: Valid Texas Driver’s License
