Ready to join? We are looking for interested Occupational Therapists, to join our rehabilitation team and participate in our Occupational Hand Therapy Fellowship Program. Aside from the educational experience MOR and Rush has to offer our Fellowship Candidates, our therapists plan, implement and evaluate patient care programs designed to increase, maintain, or restore function, minimize, or prevent disability and assist patients in reaching their maximum performance levels. The position is full-time, will be based at the Orthopaedic Building in Chicago, IL near the Illinois Medical District. The ideal candidate will need to meet/submit the following documentation for consideration:
- Resume or CV.
- Cover letter describing your interest in the Fellowship and reasons for applying.
- Three letters of recommendation from professionals familiar with your qualifications and potential as a fellow.
- Completed application form
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (Other duties may be assigned.)
- Participates fully in the Educational Instruction of being a Fellow with Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush
- Evaluates patient and gathers appropriate information to determine accurate clinical diagnoses and treatment plan.
- Establishes appropriate, functional and objective goals based upon clinical examination.
- Devise detailed treatment and care plans for patients.
- Provides exceptional patient care and service.
- The ability to maintain friendly, cordial relations with all clients and employees; maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that results in positive and respectful working relationships.
- Cultivate relationships with patients and the community.
- Provide continuous communication with referring physicians and other referral sources to ensure a consistent level of care.
- Maintain patient charts, clinical logs and checklists necessary for compliance.
- Maintains patient confidentiality with regard to medical records per company policies and procedures and assures compliance with all HIPAA guidelines.
- Communicates well in a professional setting.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s, Masters or Doctorate Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program
- Current State of Illinois Occupational Therapy license required or be eligible to attain a license prior to the initiation of the
of the Fellowship Program - Minimum 1 year of experience in UE/Hand Therapy OR must have at least a level 2 fieldwork placement in hands.
- Occupational Therapists must have current NBCOT certification.
- CPR Certified
Preferred Candidates will be members in the following organizations:
- Illinois Occupational Therapy Association (ILOTA)
- American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
- American Society of Hand Therapy (ASHT)

Pay Range: Starting at $60,000 annualized. Compensation at MOR is determined by many factors, which may include but are not limited to, job-related skills and level of experience, education, certifications, geographic location, market data and internal equity.
