About the Role

Delta Research is looking for a dedicated Software Tester to join a small, focused engineering team. This is a 90% testing role; other duties would be secondary. We are looking for someone who can break things methodically, build comprehensive test coverage, and make complex software more trustworthy.

Our team develops tools and libraries for the simulation and analysis of missile defense systems and associated threats. These are high fidelity missile defense simulations where reliability is paramount. Right now, testing is one of our most critical needs, and we're looking for someone to take charge of it.

Qualifications

Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a security clearance required. A current in-place clearance is a plus.

Education: Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, or mathematics field. Physics, applied mathematics, aerospace engineering, and computer science are particularly relevant.

Experience: 0 - 5 years of experience in software testing, scientific computing, or a related field.

Required Skills:

  • Solid competency in at least one major programming language
  • Strong mathematical/physics background and comfort working with numerical or scientific concepts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work across software and engineering disciplines

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Modern Fortran, C++, Rust and/or Python
  • Experience with unit testing, integration testing, or other forms of software validation
  • Experience developing test scenarios, test plans, or structured testing workflows
  • Experience working with radars, sensors, missile defense systems, missiles, or physics-based simulations
  • Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git) and development environments (e.g., Visual Studio)
  • Experience working as a member of a collaborative software team

 

Anticipated Salary Range: 70,000-110,000

Start Date: Immediate
