Position Type: Substitute Teacher
Location: Runge ISD (Elementary and Secondary Campuses)

About the Position:
Runge ISD is seeking dedicated, flexible, and dependable individuals to serve as Substitute Teachers across all grade levels. Substitute Teachers are vital to ensuring uninterrupted instruction and student learning in the absence of a full-time classroom teacher.

Responsibilities:

Deliver lesson plans and classroom activities as provided by the regular teacher

Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment

Take attendance and manage classroom behavior effectively

Communicate any concerns or incidents to the campus administration

Uphold district policies and procedures, including confidentiality and student safety protocols

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED (minimum requirement)

Bachelor’s degree or current Texas teaching certification preferred

Must complete fingerprinting and background check (TEC §22.0834)

Must complete mandatory substitute orientation and district training

Ability to follow written plans and adapt to different classroom settings

Strong classroom management and communication skills

Additional Requirements:

Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times (FERPA, TEC §26.004)

Report any suspected abuse or neglect in accordance with Texas Family Code §261.101
