Job Duties:

  • The Security Operations Center Manager will be responsible for overseeing the security operations center and assigned team as a part of the Information Security team to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Agency's information. Primarily, this position will be responsible for developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and systems to ensure the protection of the Agency's assets, personnel, clients, and date. Furthermore, this position is required to assist in incident detection and response processes established by the agency CISO. 

  • Serves as the Agency's SOC Manager leading the security operations center team, providing technical guidance and manages activities in the SOC in regard to hiring, training and evaluating SOC staff.

  • Administer the Agency's Vulnerability and Threat Management Program to include administering the security tools associated with vulnerability scanning for both system and applications. Use of open source threat intelligence information to identify risk and vulnerabilities affecting the network.

  • Perform incident triage and handling by determining scope, urgency and potential impact thereafter identifying the specific vulnerability and recommending actions for expeditious remediation. Coordinate the handlers' activities, gather information, provide updates, and ensure that the team's needs are met.

  • Administer the Agency's IT Risk Management program to include drafting and reviewing risk acceptance forms, tracking IT risk, and performing IT risk assessments.

  • Assist with help desk tickets related to security service issues and security incidents.

  • To ensure that personal identifying information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared and disposed. To protect the agency networks and applications by safeguarding systems, equipment and data.

  • Perform other related duties as directed.

Position Duties

A Bachelor's Degree in information technology systems, computer science, or a related field and experience in the information technology field to include experience in a security-focused role.

Or an Associate Degree in information technology systems, computer science, or a related field and experience in the information technology field to include experience in a security-focused role and two (2) years of experience.

Relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's Degree on a year-for-year basis.
