Duties

Works with national headquarters (NHQ) and state leadership and mission staff to coordinate all aspects of state planning and assessment, including formulation of the state budget.,Managing budget planning tools, drafting state budget plans, identifying potential critical changes to budget projections and plans.,Coordinating and facilitating budget planning meetings, developing financial projections, costing out staffing plans, projecting additional budget needs and potential budget surpluses.,Collaborating with program officials and staff to determine necessary adjustments due to major or unanticipated budget changes.,Performs financial analysis, reporting, and information management. Analyzes financial information to confirm proper execution of funds in accordance with comprehensive applicable rules and regulations, metrics and as directed by the state.

Specialized Experience Requirement: To qualify for the GS-12 level, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the Federal GS-11 level in the Federal service or comparable experience not gained through federal service. For this position, examples of specialized experience include:- Projecting budget needs and potential budget surpluses, drafting budget plans, tracking expenditures, managing budget planning tools;- Providing guidance and assistance in projecting, planning, allocating, and executing financial resources;- Analyzing financial information to confirm proper execution of funds in accordance with applicable rules and regulations;- Monitoring financial systems to ensure funds are properly allocated and obligated as apportioned in support of management objectives;- Coordinating internal controls processes and financial audit activities. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-in-Grade Requirement: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. You must meet this requirement by the closing date of this announcement.
