Job Description

The QA Specialist reports to the Quality Manager. The QA Specialist is responsible for assisting the Quality Manager and the Quality Department. The QA Specialist addresses Quality related requests of internal and external customers.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Support global staff in QMS and other Quality related requirements
  • Results oriented, and comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities. Able to work under the pressure of deadlines and assist the Quality Manager managing projects
  • The review and maintenance of Quality Procedures
  • Assist with Quality Awareness Training updates
  • Exhibits professionalism, commitment, and dedication in all areas of correspondence. Strong verbal and written skills
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of personal computer applications and software packages
  • Using excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials and customers
  • Able to respond to customer correspondence using critical judgment, considering always that sensitive/confidential company information cannot be disclosed. Trustworthy and maintains confidentiality.
  • Perform internal calibrations when and if trained
  • Inform Customers of Product Recalls
  • Assist in Warehouse walk-throughs, documenting nonconforming issues and corresponding to Warehouse Management
  • Assist in the Internal Audit Process including preparation of audit checklists and when/if trained perform Internal Audits
  • Assist in External Audits, when assigned
  • Assist with Corrective Actions, as needed

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Exhibits strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Access, MS Outlook and Adobe Acrobat Professional is required
  • PC proficiency in a Microsoft Windows environment. Proficient with internet, e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and other software
  • Able to read and understand a terminal screen and printed reports
  • Able to type data/use a PC for long periods of time
  • Skill Evaluation: Spelling 70%, Math 80%, Typing 40 WPM , Basic Excel 70%

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum three years’ post high school experience including minimum one year approved related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
