Soldering Engineering Technician

Job Description:

Purpose: To manage and perform soldering of surface
mount components on PC boards, work under a microscope on electronic assemblies
in an ESD protected area, solder electrical connections, wire lead preparation,
minor assembly and inspection in a timely, high-quality manner.

General Qualifications: Requires:

  • Perform DC testing on Diode devices per Test Plans
  • Set up manual and automatic
    test configurations to perform Pass / Fail tests per test plans
  • Ability to solder electrical
    connections in accordance with Assembly to IPC-A-610 E class 2 and class 3
    requirements and inspection.
  • Perform go/no-go testing of
    basic electronic equipment using written and verbal test procedures and
    basic test equipment.

  • Wiring and connector
    placement (both solder and crimp type)
  • Inspection, soldering and
    the rework of Through Hole components on printed circuit boards (PCB)
  • Solder leads onto electrical
    components; Working knowledge of various soldering allows, fluxes and
    cleaning materials and procedures

  • Visually inspecting and
    accurate measurements (measuring tools/gauging devices)

  • Complete necessary
    paperwork.

  • Read blueprints; Ability to
    read, understand and follow detail drawing and work instruction
  • Soldering electronic
    components; - Understand component parts identification.

  • Solders broken parts or
    covers holes to repair leaks.

  • Troubleshooting.
  • Clean and prep products.
  • Work on various stages of
    soldering wires and assemble components.

  • Solders together components
    to assemble fabricated metal items.

Education and Experience:

  • 4 - 6 years' experience in
    manufacturing testing
  • Ability to follow oral and
    written guidelines as well as read & understand spec sheets &
    Test plans
  • Good communication
    skills (both verbal and written)

  • Detail oriented
  • Computer skills helpful,
    specifically SAP and MS office

  • Knowledge of DC
    measurements preferred
  • Knowledge of ESD
    procedures preferred

Due to

The Salary Range for this position is $35,000 –
$58,000.  Actual salary offered to candidate will depend on several
factors, including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates’
experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
