We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Production Associate to support operations across multiple areas within our plant, including the Wash Plant, Dry Plant, and Rail Loadout. This role is essential in ensuring efficient production processes while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment to support production needs. Monitor and run production processes to maintain efficiency. Conduct testing procedures to ensure product quality meets specifications. Assist with basic maintenance tasks and troubleshooting equipment as needed. Adapt to various roles within production areas to support plant operations. Work flexibly across shifts to ensure proper coverage based on plant requirements.
Qualifications:
- Understanding of the mining process, product lines, and customer specifications. Ability to operate and maintain production equipment. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety. Willingness to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. This is primarily a night-shift position, but flexibility is required

Requirements
What You Bring
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail with math, reading, and computer skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word) and internal systems (Badger Net).
- Basic maintenance skills
- Experience operating heavy equipment is a plus
- Ability to cross-train in multiple production areas
- Flexible work schedule and ability to adjust schedule based on production needs/demands.
- Physical Requirements:
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work safely at heights, including on railcars.
- Capable of operating heavy equipment and performing physical tasks such as lifting and climbing.
Summary
The Production Associate position is responsible for all facets within the plant. This associate will be a resource to all areas including Wash Plant, Dry Plant and Rail Loadout. This associate must have an understanding of the mining process, our customers, product lines, and specifications. Primary tasks will be to maintain production and efficiencies. Associate will fill in and assist within all production areas at the Fairwater Sand Plant. Tasks will include operating heavy equipment, performing numerous testing procedures to maintain quality specifications, running and monitoring production processes, and assist with basic maintenance tasks. This position requires flexibility between shifts to ensure coverage within production areas based on plant needs.
Safety and Environmental Compliance
- Inspect work areas for hazards or defects and document findings to ensure timely repairs.
- This position will require use of a respirator; PPE is provided by Badger.
- Utilize fall protection systems when working on top of railcars.
- Address and document any environmental issues, such as oil/fuel spills.
- Team Collaboration and Communication
- Coordinate with planning and scheduling teams to meet customer and operational needs.
- Utilize open, honest, and respectful communication to foster a family-oriented team atmosphere.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Complete loadout reporting, including railcar arrivals and inspections, and maintain inventory records.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance
- Perform pre-shift inspections, fueling, and maintenance of mobile equipment.
- Operate utility vehicles, skid steers, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Remove snow and ice hazards from tracks during winter months.
- General Support
- Participate in housekeeping tasks within the rail loadout area and throughout the plant.
- Provide training, feedback, and support to team members to enhance overall team performance.
