Parts Sales Representative Job Description

Overview

WCTractor is an established equipment dealership with multiple locations across Texas and a long history of local family ownership. When you join Normangee Tractor, a division of WCTractor, you’ll be part of a small, close-knit team that takes care of its customers and each other.

We offer a competitive pay structure and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, prescription, supplemental and life insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and more.

If you’ve been around tractors, hay equipment, or ranch life and you’re the kind of person who can figure things out and doesn’t mind rolling up your sleeves, you’ll fit in here.

What You’ll Do

As a Parts Sales Representative in Normangee, you’ll spend most of your time at the parts counter, helping customers get what they need to keep their equipment running. You’ll also help keep the parts department organized and ready for the next rush.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Greet customers in person and on the phone and help them identify and look up the parts they need

  • Use our business systems (such as CDK and manufacturer portals) to research, quote, and process parts orders

  • Pull parts from the warehouse using bin locations and return parts to stock as needed

  • Assist with stocking shelves, organizing inventory, and keeping the parts area clean and easy to navigate

  • Check in and help process incoming parts shipments (UPS, freight, etc.)

  • Support occasional ordering or special requests when the manager is out, following established procedures

  • Handle sales transactions accurately, including applying discounts or credits according to company guidelines

  • Help maintain parts displays and signage to reflect current inventory, sales, and promotions

  • Work with the service department and other team members to make sure customers are taken care of promptly

This is a customer-facing role in a small-town store. Most days you’ll see a mix of cattle ranchers, small acreage owners, hay customers, and “weekend warriors” picking up what they need to take care of their place.

Schedule & Working Conditions

  • Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Saturday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM

  • Work is primarily in the store and parts warehouse, with regular walking, standing, and moving between the counter and stock areas

  • Occasional lifting or moving of parts and boxes (up to approximately 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation)

  • Exposure to indoor and outdoor conditions, including shop and yard environments

Parts Sales Representative Qualifications

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Strong customer service background, preferably in a retail, equipment, automotive, or ag-related environment

  • Comfort with heavy phone and in-person customer interaction

  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new systems

  • Ability to lift and move parts as required (up to approximately 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation)

Preferred Experience & Traits:

  • Previous parts counter experience (ag, equipment, automotive, or industrial)

  • Familiarity with tractors, hay equipment, mowers, or similar equipment

  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to problem-solve and think things through

  • Comfortable working in a small team where everyone pitches in where needed

  • Down-to-earth, steady, and easy to work with

If people would describe you as having “good common sense” and a solid work ethic, you’re probably who we’re looking for.

About WCTractor

WCTractor’s mission is to be the best in the eyes of our customers, employees, community, and industry, and to reflect honesty, integrity, and Christian standards and values in all we do.

Washington County Tractor, Inc. began as a Ford tractor dealership in 1939. Until 2002, it existed as a single location in Brenham, Texas. From 2002–2013, additional locations were added, and from 2015–2018 more locations joined the group. Today, WCTractor serves multiple communities across Texas, offering agricultural, construction, and lawn and garden equipment, utility vehicles, and trailers. Local active family ownership has been instrumental in making our mission statement a reality every day.
