We are now hiring for a full-time Workforce Associate at our Midway Center!

SALARY: 

  • The average starting salary for this position will fall in the range of $38,000 and $42,000 annually. Where candidates fall in this range will be based on skill and experience level.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Processes workforce job seekers applications in specific databases including ECM and assists with data entry into RedCap, Salesforce, Illinois Worknet, and other funder provided databases.
• Receives workforce participants and job seekers, assists job seekers by answering routine questions; provides general program and intake information; makes appointments for job seekers; and gives out application forms and updates information into the database/s.
• Informs job seekers of workforce services; applies knowledge of programs; explains standard forms; checks forms for completeness and correctness; processes, files and codes forms.
• Provides job seekers with general labor market information, such as wage and salary, occupational growth within industries, labor availability, and labor benefits, and answers technical questions pertaining to workforce programs and procedures by phone or in person.
• Communicates with job seekers to provide information about and to make referrals to other organizations in the community. Makes referrals to various other programs and agencies using knowledge of types of services available; works with Career Coaches on referring job seekers to other community resources to address immediate income and support needs.
• Performs support services for the workforce services staff; gathers and compiles statistical information to track and monitor program performance; schedules, administers and scores performance and other tests.
• Facilitate job search, job seeking and job keeping workshop(s) using prescribed curriculum(s) provided by the Agency.
• Assists program staff with outreach and recruitment.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, CREDENTIALS and/or EXPERIENCE:
• High School Diploma or equivalent education required.
• 3+ years of specific experience in the workforce field (public contact work, job/claims, referral/placement, and outreach), preferred.
• Experience in public contact work obtaining, analyzing and evaluating data such as job/claims interviewing, testing, referral and/or placement, sales representative, credit investigation, or related public contact work dealing with job applicants and employers in a variety of supportive clerical and outreach functions, preferred.

TRANSPORTATION/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Driving for work required with a personally owned vehicle. Travel between sites required. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing and viewing a computer terminal.
