As the Health & Safety Manager, you'll be the driving force for ensuring visible, effective safety standards and continuous improvement. Champion best practices and empower teams to mitigate risks, collaborating with passionate professionals dedicated to compliance, innovation, and excellence.
Reporting Structure
- Reports directly to the Regional Health and Safety Director.
- Collaborates across internal departments & the international Health & Safety community.
- Engages externally with contractors, customers, auditors, and consultants.
Your Mission
- Lead and evolve health and safety management systems in accordance with ISO 45001.
- Serve as a trusted partner to general contractors and project managers, ensuring safety is at the forefront.
- Shape processes and tools that proactively control high-risk activities, keeping every site mission-safe.
- Drive awareness, deliver engaging training, and foster a high-performing safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Site HSE Supervision
- Embed and deploy Health & Safety Policy onsite
- Analyze daily operations and high-risk activities (HRA)
- Conduct frequent site safety visits and generate actionable reports
- Identify safety gaps, propose solutions, and track corrective actions
- Build key safety performance indicators, drive preventive and corrective strategies
- Cultivate feedback channels and participate in site safety meetings
- Recommend innovative technical improvements in partnership with contractors
- Investigate accidents, formulate corrective measures, and drive field awareness
- Project Management
- Collaborate with legal, technical, and procurement teams to integrate safety into project designs and processes
- Develop and update HSE specifications for site launches
- Lead risk analysis and deploy targeted action plans from project inception
- Ensure full compliance throughout project life cycle
- Support HSE protocols during site reception
- Communication, Training & Awareness
- Drive safety communication via newsletters, intranet, and field sessions
- Lead creative training and awareness campaigns, assessing team skills and readiness
- Develop and maintain guides/FAQs for basic site safety (evacuation plans, layout, fire safety)
- Management Systems
- Enforce Information Security and Integrated Management System protocols
- Report and respond to security incidents with agility
- Continually optimize management systems—delight internal and external clients
Essential Skills & Expertise
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Health and Safety within construction environments
- Excellent command of French and English
- Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Deep knowledge of EMEA health and safety regulations, audit techniques, risk analysis & ISO 45001
- Membership with IOSH or EMEA equivalent, striving towards chartered certification
