Job Description

TITLE:                                    Aberdeen High School Teacher


 


STATUS:                                Certified


 


TERM OF SERVICE:             187 Days


 


SUPERVISOR:                      Principal or Assistant Principal


 


DESCRIPTION:       The teacher is responsible for instructional planning, motivation, supervision, delivery of instruction, and assessment of performance for all assigned students.


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:


 


Duties include but not limited to the following:



  • Create and maintain a safe and engaging learning environment for all students

  • Prepare for classes assigned, and provide written evidence (lesson plans) of preparation

  • Manage student behavior, support students, and supervise students to ensure safety

  • Employ a variety of engaging instructional techniques and grade-level materials

  • Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities

  • Provide students with feedback and post grades regularly to evaluate student progress

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct digital records as required by law/ district policy

  • Continue professional growth through ongoing professional learning courses for CEUs

  • Responsible for curricular and extra-curricular activities as assigned

  • Assist in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials

  • Attend and participate in faculty meetings, in-service and professional development

  • Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations and board policy

  • Demonstrate knowledge and teach the district and state curricula

  • Maintain student confidentiality according to FERPA laws

  • Utilize the district learning management system to communicate assignments to students

  • Communicate regularly with parents/students using district approved tools and apps

  • Provide rigorous Tier I instruction for all students and Tier II interventions when needed

  • Mentor and encourage students for future educational and career goals

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the administration

Qualifications


Proper certification by State Department of Education with endorsement in field/subject and such other qualifications as may be set by administration
