Job Description

Description

We are seeking a reliable maintenance worker to ensure the safety, functionality, and upkeep of our CDL training yard. This position is integral to maintaining the grounds, vehicles, equipment, and facilities so that training operations run smoothly and safely.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance of training yard facilities, including buildings, classrooms, and training equipment. 
  • Inspect and perform basic maintenance on training trucks, trailers, and other vehicles (in collaboration with mechanics if needed). 
  • Ensure yard safety by maintaining signage, lighting, and clear traffic paths for training vehicles. 
  • Conduct basic repairs on tools, fences, gates, and training props as needed. 
  • Perform regular inspections and address any safety hazards or maintenance issues promptly. 
  • Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment needed for yard upkeep. 
  • Assist with setting up and tearing down training scenarios or mock testing areas. 
  • Support in winter snow removal, de-icing, or other seasonal maintenance tasks.
  • Willingness to travel is desired.



Work Environment:
This role is primarily outdoors with exposure to varying weather conditions. Some lifting, climbing, and physical tasks are required.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Class A CDL preferred.
  • Experience in general maintenance, repair, or groundskeeping (CDL yard or trucking facility experience is a plus). 
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for minor vehicle or equipment checks. 
  • Ability to operate yard equipment (e.g., tractors, snow plows, forklifts). 
  • Strong attention to safety and ability to follow safety guidelines. 
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
