Quality and Food Safety Manager
Location                                                Calgary, AB

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Food Safety requirements for Human Food and Animal Food, when applicable
  • Actively participate in employee development
  • Create, support and facilitate training
  • Assists with internal auditing
  • Provide auditing support for both internal and external audit requirements (FDA/BRC/Organic/Gluten-Free/Customer Audits)
  • Perform annual tasks as needed for compliance
  • Provide IT support for systems such as Sphera and PolicyTech
  • Interact with ADM Quality Center of Excellence and Food Safety personnel to ensure compliance and continuous improvement
  • Oversee and implement Cost of Poor Quality initiative
  • Assist with the IA (Intentional Adulteration) FSMA implementation- Food Defense Vulnerability Assessment
  • Oversee the investigation of non-conformity, assure root cause analysis and review
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel
  • Must be organized, possess time management skills and be able to meet deadlines
  • Ability to make decisions based on information and data available
  • Ability to work as a team member and provide training
  • Working knowledge of Document Management (PolicyTech), spreadsheets, and databases
  • Knowledge applicable food regulations and requirements
  • Demonstrate experience of effective leadership
Education or Work Experience
  • Preferred 4-year degree or equivalent 7-year Food Safety experience
  • Preventative Control Qualified Individual (PCQI) trained
