Black Hawk Middle School Additional Information: Show/Hide - Teachers shall attend promptly all meetings called by the principal or superintendent including ad-hoc committees as needed.
- Teachers shall devote themselves during school hours to the duties of their respective assignments and shall give careful attention to the instruction, supervision, discipline, manners, and habits of their students.
- Teachers are expected to become familiar with and follow Board policies, state laws, and administrative procedures. regulations and the district's course of study so that they may be able to carry these into effective operation.
- Implement the district-approved curriculum.
- Communicates with parents and school counselors on student progress.
- Create and implement a classroom discipline plan aligned with district expectations.
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Maintain accurate student records including attendance, grades, and discipline.
- Participate as a member of an IEP team, 504 team, or other student assistance team as requested.
- Implement special education plans such as 504 plans, individual education plans, and individual health plans.
- Other duties as assigned by the Administration.
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
- Any teacher certification from Missouri is acceptable for this position.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, and interact effectively with all aspects of the school community is required.
- Ability to solve conflicts, maintain confidentiality and remain open to various ideas and viewpoints.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Ability to use and teach mathematics commensurate with assigned positions.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while complying with established policies and procedures of the building and district.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.

This position will serve as a case manager for students with special needs and teach special education classes. Job duties/assigned classes specific to this position are to be assigned by the building principal
