Job Description

Summary:      Dickinson Wright LLP is a full-service business law firm located in the financial district in downtown Toronto. Staff designated at Dickinson Wright LLP (“the Firm”) as Real Estate Legal Assistants are responsible for providing professional support services to Attorneys and Clients of the Firm as assigned or otherwise necessary, on a full time basis, unless otherwise arranged with the Firm. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities of staff designated as Real Estate Assistants at the Firm include but are not limited to:

  1. Banking and commercial real estate transactions that include hotel financing, restaurant franchising (chains and individuals), shopping plazas, apartment buildings, office buildings and mixed use residential buildings;
  2. Commercial lending and cross border work;
  3. Corporate reorganizations and joint venture projects;
  4. Residential real estate.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities Required:

Commercial Real Estate Legal Assistants must:

  1. Five years’ experience in the areas of banking and financial services;
  2. Strong computer skills including knowledge of MSWord, Conveyancer and Teraview;
  3. Excellent spelling, grammar and proofreading skills;
  4. Highly organized and detailed oriented with the ability to manage multiple closings;
  5. Client focused;
  6. Team player with a positive attitude;
  7. Able to manage the administrative needs of the practices.

Working Conditions:

Normal law office environment with little exposure to noise, dust, temperature.
