Job Description

Event & Digital Marketing Intern

Organization Summary

The Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce (TRCC) is a champion of area business. As a member-based organization, the TRCC’s mission is to solve critical business challenges in order to create vibrant economic opportunities for all in our region.

Position Summary

The Event & Digital Marketing Intern will work primarily with the Vice President or Talent & Workforce, as well as support other talent and workforce staff, in the planning, marketing and implementation of department events. The department focus is to attract and retain talent to the Toledo Region through programs like EPIC Toledo and Summer in the City.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with event planning, coordination and execution including, but not limited to, “day of” set-up/tear-down, preparation, hosting registration table and troubleshooting

• Assist with event registration and aid in database management

• Attend Chamber, EPIC Toledo and Summer in the City events

• Assist in the production of various print and digital projects to support event marketing

• Develop engaging copy for news stories, blog posts and event promotions

• Assist with social media, pre-and post-event coverage

• Take photos and/or short videos at events

• Taking photos and/or short videos throughout the Toledo Region

In addition to these duties, the Event & Digital Marketing Intern will have an opportunity to work with other staff members relating to programming, advocacy and business development. The Event Marketing Intern will gain a good understanding of how chambers of commerce work.

This internship opportunity is a paid position for minimum of 15 hours (maximum 25 hours) a week for 10-15 weeks in the summer. Some evening hours will be required to cover events which take place after 5pm.

Requirements

• College Junior or Senior preferred (must be able to attend events at locations which have a minimum age restriction of 21)

• Experience with Microsoft Office, Canva and Adobe Creative Suite

• Must be organized and exhibit attention to details and deadlines

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are essential

• Must be able to work independently and with others.
