Job Description

Aviation & Missile Solutions (AMS) is currently seeking a Facilities and Operations Manager to join our team in White Sands, NM.


Candidate will be supporting an Army Project Office providing Technical Expertise and Facility Management to an Army Test Team for current and future Air Defense System of Systems (SoS) testing. Candidate will be required to support the Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office at their Field Office operating at White Sands Missile Range, NM (WSMR). Candidate will be required to interact directly with the Government customer, subcontracted entities, and fellow associates to professionally and effectively convey scopes of work, project briefings, upgrade and expansion recommendations, capabilities, challenges, requirements, and problem solutions associated with ever-evolving testing requirements. Candidate will be managing and occasionally performing installations, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance tasks for all the IFMC Field Office’s buildings, test sites, mobile shelters, generators, vehicles, power and communication systems (mobile and permanent), and other designated assets through coordination with WSMR resources and other contracting entities. Other duties assigned include managing a Government Services Administration (GSA) fleet of vehicles, investigating and collaborating on future testing requirements and solutions, proposing and managing a yearly budget, creating accurate materials lists and purchase requests, initially completing and remaining up to date on mandatory Army and company training courses/modules, directing a small and inclusive team, creating SOW’s, technical drawings, spreadsheets and presentations (using Microsoft programs), providing equipment loading/offloading and transportation support as needed.


Candidate must be able to multi-task in a high-paced environment with a flexible work schedule during periods of test execution. Candidate must be self-motivated and possess good communication and team building skills to participate in multiple test support activities with a diverse group of subject matter experts. Candidate must be willing to travel between various DoD test ranges to sustain several, simultaneous test events. Candidate must possess a running knowledge of an assortment of skilled trades to include, (but not limited to), electricity and low-voltage communication, construction, heavy equipment operation (including skid-steer), HVAC, and plumbing with a particular emphasis on three phase medium and fiber optic and CAT6 low voltages.

Basic qualifications:


Candidate must be a US citizen and have 7+ years’ experience in facility management and/or skilled trades with a readiness to learn. Electrical and communication systems knowledge (Journeyman or higher certification a plus), to include high, medium, and low voltages with a familiarity of fiber optics and CAT6. Management and/or Team Leadership experience are also preferred. The following certifications are required: Class A Commercial (CDL); Mobile Crane (Digger Derrick); and Forklift Operator.


Security Requirements:


Candidate must have and maintain a current Secret security clearance.
