About the Department

To assist the full-time professional Sales & Marketing Manager in the promotion of BGSU conference and event space, as well as managing the Student Marketing & Media Team.

Position Duties

  • Serves as a personal assistant and consultant to Sales & Marketing Manager.
  • Assists in overseeing and scheduling the Marketing & Media Team members.
  • Engages in research, pre-sales, and follow-up phone calls to local, regional, and national clients.
  • Gathers, inputs, organizes, and prioritizes client contacts and information.
  • Assists in recruitment and networking initiatives in the broadest sense.
  • Identifies internal constituents (faculty & staff) and their professional connections to external associations.
  • Assists in conceptualizing, creating, and critiquing marketing content and design.
  • Assists in brainstorming creative ideas for increasing sales and revenue.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of sales and marketing philosophy, principles, and practices.
  • Charismatic and confident individual with superb interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiastic and energized by phone conversations and in-person interactions with clients.
  • Self-starting and organized individual who requires little supervision.
