About the role.

McCain Foods is looking for a temporary Technician FSQ1 to join our quality team.  

 

What you’ll be doing.

  • Must be able to work shifts on a rotating basis 
  • Responsible for following all safety requirements as discussed during orientation 
    Responsible for the accurate completion of all TQC documentation and HACCP system procedures for the Production areas, including any and all established testing or grading requirements 
  • Ensure that all Lab equipment is in good working condition and report issues to the Quality Supervisor 
  • Responsible to utilize SAP, including data entry in SAP. 
  • Ability to work very closely with the Production department to insure products meet the approved specification 
  • Maintaining a neat work area, as well as a daily housekeeping report of the area ◦Responsible for identification and reporting of product quality issues 
  • Participate in Team meetings, as required 
  • Operates all of the equipment associated with testing (Repack, FF, Grading and Check weights) 
  • Incumbent will be required to cross-train 
  • Quality checks of finished product must be monitored to ensure customer satisfaction 
  • Perform standard tests to ensure finished quality                                               
  • Cleaning / housekeeping of lab area 
  • Filling out paperwork and entering data on computer accurately and efficiently 
  • Communicate any changes, issues, etc. to other operators. 
  • Must maintain all required documentation and check sheets, including entering data on Sanitation Day. 
  • Ensure SQCDPE targets are met by understanding and goal setting of KPI’s 
  • Must follow “Good Manufacturing Practices” (GMP’s)
  • All additional duties as they become assigned.  

 

What you’ll need to be successful.

  • Grade 12 or GED  
  • Basic computer skills are required 
  • Ability to work well with plant supervision and production employees ◦Team player with excellent attendance 
  • Successful completion of 90-day training period 
  • Ability to accept and embrace change in day to day operations

Compensation Package: $ - $ Starting at 23.25 CAD hourly + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts
