    SUMMARY:
    The Scenic Director for the Prairie Elementary School Play is responsible for designing and overseeing the creation of all scenic elements for the production. This role involves working closely with the Main Director, students, and parent volunteers to bring the visual aspects of the play to life. The Scenic Director ensures that all scenic components align with the artistic vision and are executed safely and effectively.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Design and Planning:
    Develop and design scenic elements that enhance the overall visual impact of the production.
    Collaborate with the Main Director to ensure the scenic design aligns with the creative vision of the play.
    Create sketches, renderings, and construction plans for sets and props.
    Construction and Implementation:
    Oversee the construction, painting, and assembly of sets and props.
    Work with students and parent volunteers to build and decorate scenic elements.
    Ensure all scenic components are safe, stable, and functional for the performers.

    Technical Coordination:
    Coordinate with the technical team for lighting and sound integration with scenic elements.
    Ensure smooth scene transitions and proper placement of scenic pieces during performances.

    Budget and Resource Management:
    Manage the budget allocated for scenic materials and supplies.
    Source and purchase necessary materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
    Maintain an inventory of tools, materials, and scenic elements.

    Problem-Solving:
    Address any issues that arise during the construction and performance phases.
    Make necessary adjustments to scenic elements to meet safety and artistic standards.

    Qualifications:
    Experience in scenic design and construction, preferably in a theatrical or educational setting.
    Strong artistic and creative skills.
    Knowledge of construction techniques and materials.
    Ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and parent volunteers.
    Strong organizational and project management skills.
    Attention to detail and commitment to safety.

    Working Conditions:
    Flexible hours, mainly afternoons and weekends for set construction and rehearsals.
    Availability during performances for on-site support.
