Job Description

The Night Kitchen Attendant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in all kitchen, dining, bar, and public areas during overnight hours. This role supports the culinary and service teams by ensuring all equipment, restrooms, and storage areas are sanitized and well-stocked. The attendant plays a key role in upholding hygiene standards and providing a clean, safe environment for both guests and staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that the dining and bar areas are clean during and after meal services. 
  • Ensure that the kitchen areas, equipment, and restrooms are clean during the overnight hours.
  • Provide the cooks, server assistants, bartenders and servers with support and assistance. 
  • Ensure guest and employee public areas are cleaned.
  • Provide support for all activities pertaining to cleaning/maintaining kitchen storage, preparation and service areas and materials to include maintaining closet inventories. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must pass a pre-employment background check. 
  • Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • Ability to regularly lift a minimum of 10-15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees and solve problems. 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write and read reports and purchase orders, as well as basic math skills. 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working independently. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals. 
  • Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards. 
  • Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.
