Primary Objective of  Food Expo/Runner  Position

To help maintain the efficiency of a restaurant kitchen by ensuring accurate delivery of dishes to the tables 

 

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with service staff and kitchen staff 
  • Maintain awareness of factors such as food safety
    and the temperature of the food
  • Confirm that kitchen orders have been properly prepared according to house recipes and guest requests 
  • Ensure order is complete before it is delivered
    to the table
  • Delivers food to guests in the dining room and lounge
  • Clears unnecessary items from tables as needed
  • Contributes to customer satisfaction by attending to restaurant
    customer needs
  • Keeps Kitchen window/pass through area clean and well stocked
  • Informs server, hostess, manager or chef of any customer
    dissatisfaction
  • Minimizes safety hazards by following all safety rules and
    procedures

Physical Demands & Work Environment

While performing the
duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use
hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and
taste or smell.  The employee is
frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and
lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  The
employee is sometimes exposed to outside weather conditions, and frequently
exposed to moving mechanical parts, sharp cutting tools, hot external surfaces
of kitchen cooking equipment.   The noise
level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud
