What You'll Do as a PRN On‑Call RN
As a Registered Nurse, you play a vital role in assessing patient needs and delivering timely, skilled care during on‑call hours. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting patient visits to assess nursing needs
- Completing initial evaluation visits and developing individualized plans of care
- Performing ongoing comprehensive assessments and revising care plans as needed
- Providing skilled nursing treatments and educating patients and caregivers on disease processes, self‑care, and prevention
- Initiating preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures as ordered
- Preparing clinical and progress notes and coordinating services
- Communicating directly with physicians and interdisciplinary staff to ensure continuity of care
- Re‑evaluating patient needs and assisting with discharge planning
- Supervising LPNs, vocational nurses, and home health aides when needed
- Practicing infection control and reporting any signs of abuse
- Assisting with office tasks and new‑nurse orientation when required

Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing
- Active RN license in Oklahoma
- At least 1 year of nursing experience
- CPR certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
- Ability to travel long distances and adapt to changing schedules
- Home health, critical care, or emergency room experience preferred
- Strong communication skills, calm under pressure, organized, and able to multitask
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
