Summary

The Back-End Engineer plays a critical role in enhancing application performance, security, and reliability, enabling Deel to deliver high-quality digital experiences to users.This role focuses on building robust and scalable back-end solutions that support front-end functionalities and ensure seamless data flow. By focusing on back-end development, this role is essential for building the foundation of applications that drive business objectives and enhance user satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA professionals to create seamless experiences.

  • From discovery to deployment, we value your input throughout all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle

  • Collaborate to develop robust new features, APIs, and continuously improve our industry-leading products. Help find and fix bugs at "Deel Speed."

  • Ensure top-tier products and services through quality engineering and attentive, customer-focused development.

Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer.

  • Expert knowledge of Node.js and at least one other server side language.

  • You’re an expert in JavaScript syntax.

  • Database guru who knows the ins and outs of SQL and NoSQL, mainly PostgreSQL and ORM libraries (such as Sequelize)

  • Firm understanding of AWS Services such as S3, EKS, SNS and SQS (If you’re a fast learner, knowledge of GCP or Azure would be suitable, too!)

  • Adheres to business processes and systems to meet the company’s quality requirements.

  • Takes personal accountability for service excellence.

  • Information security

  • Understand their role within the organisation from an information security perspective and commit to

  • protecting the organisation’s security information assets.

  • Ensures Cost savings and efficiencies in the area of accountability.
