Job Description

 



Primary Purpose



Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This position is part of the Engineering & Facilities team and reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.



Duties and Responsibilities




  1. Perform maintenance and repairs on facility systems and equipment, including carpentry, pipefitting, plumbing, electrical (including high voltage), mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and HVAC systems.

  2. Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions or performance issues to implement timely and effective repairs.

  3. Complete preventive maintenance tasks using a structured work order system.

  4. Assist and/or oversee outside contractors during night shift operations to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.

  5. Comply with all company policies, safety regulations, and procedures, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out, Hot Work Permits, and Confined Space Entry requirements.

  6. Work assigned schedules and overtime as needed to support operational demands.

  7. Recommend improvements to safety practices, work methods, equipment performance, and operational procedures.

  8. Adhere to HMIS and PPE Safety Program guidelines.

  9. Perform additional duties as assigned.

  10. Attend manufacturer-led training sessions as required to maintain technical proficiency.

  11. Travel to other Tnemec facilities and training locations as needed.



 



Essential Functions




  1. Stand or walk continuously for up to six (6) hours per day.

  2. Frequently lift, push, or pull up to 100 pounds.

  3. Perform frequent bending, twisting, stooping, and repetitive motions.

  4. Regularly use hands to handle, grasp, and reach for tools and equipment.

  5. Work in temperatures up to 105°F during summer months.

  6. Occasionally work in wet, humid, or outdoor conditions and be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and potentially hazardous chemicals; noise levels are typically moderate.

  7. Operate forklifts and drum dollies on occasion.

  8. Occasional elevated surface work required.
