Job Description

Job Summary Statement:

 

The Facility Engineer oversees the installation, maintenance and operations of the building and equipment essential to the operation of the factory and offices and site facilities grounds.  The senior facility engineer will focus on the efficient and successful project management of our buildout and ongoing capital projects. The incumbent will also lead the elimination of breakdowns and maintenance of basic conditions to ensure a highly efficient factory support system.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

·       Manages all building and facility equipment/system related design, planning, installations, upgrades and repairs according to industry standards ensuring smooth and timeliness of startup and support of production ramps.

·       Designs, plans and implements facility related solutions to upgrade and repair existing or newly required facility capabilities.

·       Implements project management standards and documentation to ensure projects are monitored, reported and delivered on time, within costs using appropriate project methods

·       Manages facilities including office building, plant clean rooms, electrical, HVAC, fire and Life Safety systems, process cooling water, CDA, exhaust and any other required central systems

·       Develops and manages Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) project roadmaps for facility-related equipment and systems ensuring effective planning, implementation with cost controls.

·       Sources and manages outside contractors and design firms to complete projects safely, on time and within cost, along with service providers to manage day-to-day support of facility and offices.

·       Works with utility service providers to ensure stable supply and management of incoming services to meet ongoing production and forecasted expansions.

·       Monitors and improves the operating performance of facilities equipment including performance, uptime and cost Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

·       Develops and implements TPM preventive, predictive maintenance programs and design improvements to maintain basic conditions and improve MTBF.

·       Actively participates in LEAN operations program to engage and drive problem-solving methodology for facility related issues through KPIs and FMEAs

·       Defines, sources spare parts to maintain N+1 capability.

·       Supports implementation and ensures adherence of safe work programs and practices for the facility equipment, areas and contractor safety program.

·       Maintains a clean and safe work area using 5S principles.

·       Trains maintenance employees on technical standard and sustainability of basic conditions

·       Oversees operation of utilities; drives improvements through incremental kaizen activity or large-scale improvements.

·       Responsible for 24/7 operation of the site facility equipment; provides emergency after hours support as needed.

·       Any other duties assigned.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.

·       Five (5) years of experience in similar role preferably within a manufacturing or related industry.

·       Solid technical understanding of engineering principles and procedures and their application to a manufacturing facility.

·       Demonstrated proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical systems, utilities, compressed air, water, chilled water, clean rooms and electrical systems.

·       In-depth knowledge of regulatory, environmental, health and safety regulations applicable to a manufacturing factory and equipment.

·       Knowledge of building codes as related to electrical and mechanical systems

·       Knowledge and demonstrated experience of project management standard of bids, tracking and reporting.

·       Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, specifications and procedures.

·       Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.

·       Direct experience with LEAN methodology – TPM, 5S, FMEA, Standard Work

·       English language skills: Able to read, write, speak and comprehend English. 

·       Physical Demands: General office and Manufacturing environment; must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
