- Associate's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution of higher education; completed 60 semester hours of college credit at a regionally accredited institution of higher education; HS Diploma or GED and a score of 460 or higher on the ETS Parapro; or HS Diploma or GED and passing scores on the ACT Workkeys.
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to work with teachers, education support personnel, building administrators, and the general public.
- Enforce school regulations and policies in a professional manner.
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with fellow employees and pupils.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Requires employee to have the ability to push/pull up to 10 lbs.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Instructional aides assist teachers in presenting lessons that demonstrate an understanding and use of a variety of instructional strategies, questioning techniques, and resources that promote student learning and encourage students' development of basic skills, critical thinking, and problem solving. Discussions engage students and relate background.

Job Title: Instructional Aide - Mascoutah High School
Reports To: Special Education Administrators and Building Principal
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Work Days: 177 days. Anticipated work schedule 7:15 am-3:00 pm with a 30 minute lunch. 7.25 hours per day
Rate of Pay: Pay Range is $17.35-23.35 per hour (based on experience). Benefits and board paid IMRF available.

Mascoutah Middle School is looking for a dedicated, student-centered Instructional Aide to join our middle school team immediately! If you thrive in a collaborative environment and want to play a vital role in helping students reach their full potential, we want to meet you.The job goal is to improve the quality of services provided to students and act as a student advocate by assisting the teacher in implementing all aspects of the educational program, to assist students to meet goals. The instructional aide takes no independent actions, but has some decision-making authority limited and regulated by board policy and state law. This also applies to those instructional aides who may hold degrees or certificates.
