PURPOSE:

Provide patient care services through exceptional customer service and support, answer patient’s calls with questions or concerns that may cover other departments, pharmacy services, and any other matters that require information and updates with effective communication skills; all following the HIPAA privacy standards. Communicate with the patient or internal department members and leadership in effort to verify and/or clarify the situation on hand and quickly respond to the customer. May be required to handle simultaneous tasks while keeping hold calls to a minimum.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

- Answer and resolve a high volume of customer calls in a fast-paced environment

- Determine prescription processing requirements and obtain necessary documentation and/or verification to provide service

- Effectively resolve customer/patient issues professionally while providing excellent customer service and support

- Coordinate with other departments to meet business needs and operational deadlines

- Consult with management and pharmacists regarding prescription order clarification, problems or concerns

- Follow all HIPAA requirements, handling sensitive and confidential information

- Adhere to company policy and all state, federal and regulatory guidelines

- Other duties as assigned

Requirements

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in healthcare or pharmacy

- Bilingual in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, or Vietnamese, a plus

- Excellent oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills

- Strong telephone skills and handling customer complaints

- Ability to type 40+ WPM with minimal errors

- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

- Professional and disciplined work habits (time & attendance, following company policies, strong work ethics, etc.)

- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations

- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team

- Ability to act with urgency, ownership and follow-through

- Strong prioritizing, multi-tasking, time management and organization skills

- Competency using office equipment and operating technology systems

EDUCATION & LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:

- High school graduate/or equivalent
