Application performance analyst is responsible to analyze large application stack and root cause performance bottlenecks. The workloads could span from traditional databases to HPC application to cloud suite. The role of the analyst is to bring up the workload for consistent performance measurements, do competitive study or study performance KPI, rootcause the performance bottle necks and submit the detailed report. Analyst will also have to extract a simplified test case to show case issues with AMD compiler and AMD’s performance libraries if these form the root cause for performance issues. The analyst will also be responsible to bring up customer application stack and reproduce the functional or performance issues reported by AMD customers and work with respective AMD teams to track this bug to closure.
The Person:
Good interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills
The candidate should be team player with good social and communications skills, mentor junior colleagues; at the same time, be capable to work with minimal supervision.
The ideal candidate is a Motivated teammate who is hardworking about technologies and gadgets. Candidate should be willing to work in small/large teams and phenomenal interpersonal skills. We are looking for a self-starter, able to achieve successful outcomes in a non-hierarchical environment. Detailed oriented with ability to multitask through planning/organizing.
Key Responsibilities:
Preferred Experience:
- Hands-on experience with large application bring up, load balancing and distributed workloads
- Hands-on experience with setting up cluster or multi–node interconnected systems
- Hands-on experience in benchmarking and performance analysis of workloads - proven track record with tools and performance analysis of large application stack with expertise in one or more domains like client server architecture, database tuning, application cluster etc
- Excellent programming/debugging skills spanning C/C++/Fortran, Python and Java
- Excellent knowledge of linux OS/kernels, kernel tracers, STAP, virtual environment, multi-core and multi-node system architecture
- · Excellent knowledge of compiler technologies, use of optimized libraries, profilers toolsal) skills
