About Your Role

 

The Quality Manager ensures that projects meet established standards by implementing and monitoring quality systems, conducting audits, and driving continuous improvement. They lead design reviews, identify risks and inconsistencies, and collaborate with project teams to resolve issues and maintain compliance. The role also includes training staff, analyzing performance data, supporting procurement, and reporting on quality outcomes to leadership.

 

 

Education Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.



What You’ll Need to Get the Job Done

 

  • 10–15+ years of experience in quality management, design, construction, or program management with a strong focus on quality assurance and quality control.
  • Proven experience reviewing and coordinating complex construction documents.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems including architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Experience with K-12, higher education, or public-sector projects.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, ADA requirements, and regulatory standards
  • Excellent analytical, coordination, and communication skills



What Will Make You Stand Out

 

  • Professional licensure (Registered Architect or Professional Engineer).
  • Experience with Texas school district standards and bond-funded programs.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Bluebeam, Autodesk platforms, or BIM coordination tools.
  • Experience in value engineering and constructability reviews.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices and energy efficiency standards



What You’ll Do

 

  • Implement quality management systems and procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of quality control measures.
  • Conduct/participate in program and project level audits as required.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to address quality issues.
  • Implement quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Lead and train staff on quality standards and best practices.
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends and areas of improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with program requirements.
  • Prepare and present reports on quality performance to senior leadership.
  • Lead and manage comprehensive design reviews at all phases including schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
  • Evaluate drawings and specifications for completeness, accuracy, coordination, and constructability.
  • Identify design conflicts, gaps, and potential risks that could impact cost, schedule, or quality.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary reviews across architectural, structural, MEP, civil, and specialty systems.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and APMs to incorporate design review findings into project execution plans.
  • Facilitate design review meetings with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to resolve issues proactively.
  • Review value engineering proposals to ensure they maintain design intent and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure continuity between design quality and construction quality.
  • Monitor design consultant performance and provide feedback to program leadership.
  • Track and report design review comments, resolutions, and outstanding issues.
  • Ensure incorporation of lessons learned and continuous improvement across projects.
  • Support procurement efforts by reviewing design packages prior to bid to ensure readiness and completeness.
