Job Summary: The Instructor is responsible for facilitating a high-quality teaching and learning environment within assigned classrooms, laboratories, shops, or other instructional settings. Promotes student success through effective instruction, engagement, assessment, and adherence to institutional and industry standards.
Minimum Required
Education: Master’s degree with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate hours in the instructional discipline; or a combination of certifications, licensure, education, and/or professional experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Experience: Preferred: Teaching experience in higher education within the instructional discipline.
Core Duties and
Required Knowledge: Demonstrates strong attention to detail in lesson planning, instructional delivery, assessment, and student engagement to support effective learning outcomes.
Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, and interacts professionally with students, colleagues, and all levels of the organization.
Utilizes instructional technologies and standard office systems, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook) and learning management systems (LMS), to support teaching and learning.
Effectively prioritizes tasks, manages multiple responsibilities, and meets deadlines with minimal supervision.
Works independently while also contributing as an engaged and collaborative member of the academic team.
Applies critical thinking and sound judgment to problem-solving and instructional decision-making.
Upholds and supports the Hill College mission, vision, values, and Code of Conduct, and complies with all institutional policies and procedures.
Maintains confidentiality of student, employee, and institutional information.
Provides high-quality customer service, fostering a supportive, responsive, and student-centered environment.

Weekend and evening work may be required during designated times
Travel to other Hill College campuses, locations, or service areas may be required for instructional or institutional needs
Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license
Physical Requirements: Light work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. The use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of force greater than that for sedentary work.
