With decades of expertise and a strong culture of innovation, LightPath designs and manufactures advanced optical components and systems that power some of the world’s most demanding applications. We offer a collaborative, technology-driven environment, opportunities to work on cutting-edge programs, and a comprehensive benefits package that supports our employees’ health, growth, and work-life balance.

We are currently looking for a Test Engineer to join our team onsite in our Orlando, FL office. We offer a 9/80 work schedule and foster a professional, high-energy culture where employees are empowered to succeed.

The Test Engineer is responsible for defining, developing, and validating test requirements, methods, and acceptance criteria for optical and electro-optical products across the product lifecycle, from engineering development through early manufacturing. This role ensures that test intent is technically sound, traceable to requirements, and scalable for manufacturing, serving as a critical interface between design engineering, manufacturing, and quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Derive measurable test requirements from material specifications, drawings, standards, and customer requirements.

  • Define test objectives, acceptance criteria, tolerances, guard bands, and uncertainty considerations.

  • Develop engineering test specifications and procedures supporting EV, DV, PV, and sustaining phases.

  • Design and implement automated test methods using LabVIEW, Python, C#, PLC-based systems, or commercial frameworks.

  • Support procurement, commissioning, FAT/SAT, qualification, and sustainment of test equipment.

  • Participate in Design for Testability (DFT) reviews and provide early technical feedback.

  • Define required test data and ensure structured, traceable storage of results.

  • Support root-cause investigations, yield analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Collaborate closely with Design, Process Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
