Our team in Pembroke, NC, is looking for a Sanitation Supervisor to join our team! The position is responsible for performing the eight steps of sanitation. A general understanding and complying with all food safety and safety policies and procedures is required. The position requires an understanding of how to work with necessary chemicals, work in a timely manner to deliver a clean and sanitary plant to production and abide by company policies, creed, and values, including satisfactory attendance. This position is also responsible for understanding related Quality Management Systems including SQF, HACCP, and GMP to ensure safety and quality of employees and products. The job duties include responsibility for assuring food safety and for food quality for SRO products. A supervisor or other person of authority should be notified if any issues or threats to food safety or food quality are observed.
What You'll Do Everyday
- Schedules and manages a crew of sanitation workers to ensure compliance with all company, regulatory, and customer quality standards, sanitation standards, food safety standards, employee safety and environmental standards.
- Audits and corrects for any sanitation nonconformances on the production floor as well as the facility.
- Fulfillment of documentation to comply with audit regulations on a daily, weekly, monthly basis
- Completing titrations and documenting effectively to ensure proper use and report nonconformance immediately for corrective action.
- Implements corrective actions to ensure compliance with regulatory authorities and customers.
- Manages and supervises cleaning of non-compliance areas associated with quality concerns.
- Focusses on safety and proper training to ensure that company SOPs and proper GMP’s are being implemented.
- Collaborates with other departments and shifts to ensure any sanitation related issues is corrected
- Lead the team in deep cleanings when there is no production, by following the plan and adjusting if needed with proper communication to all teams for awareness.
- Develops and implements training programs for all levels of sanitation employees.
- Act as a backup for Sanitation Manager.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
What We Are Looking For
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have a flexible schedule including working overtime and weekends if necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to read and write in English and Spanish.
- General knowledge of FDA, GMP, HACCP, Sanitation, Quality and Safety programs preferred.
- 3 years of related Sanitation Experience in a food manufacturing environment including one year in a supervisor capacity or equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Detailed knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety protocols.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is expected to stand for at least 8 hours per day.
- Use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- Stoop, kneel and bend.
- Employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and is required to ask for assistance if weight is exceeded
- Exposure to environmental changes (heat, cold, dampness, chemicals).
- Working conditions; manufacturing environment requiring strict work/safety rules approximately 100% of the time.
