Scope of Position
The Outdoor Activity Coordinator's primary focus is to provide prompt, courteous and efficient service working directly with children and families in a luxury brand inspired hotel environment where attention to detail is key. They will also possess a limitless desire to create activations that are fun, creative, on time and memorable.
Position Requirements
- Professional demeanor and happy attitude.
- Previous experience in teaching or leading group activities, particularly for children and families, is a plus.
- A creative and enthusiastic approach to engaging guests.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt activities to suit various age groups and interests.
- Basic computer knowledge (Micros or other POS systems).
- Outstanding and professional guest services skills.
- Organized and the ability to facilitate multiple people and skill sets at the same time.
- Knowledge of supplies.
- Excellent eye for detail and the ability to multi-task.
- Experience setting up, operating and breaking down events.
Responsibilities
- Greet (using names) and acknowledge each guest promptly after seating with hotel greeting standard.
- Know and implement standards/procedures of service for guests.
- Ensure table settings are fully equipped with the appropriate condiments.
- Maintain cleanliness and condition of the work area.
- Lead a variety of arts, crafts, and recreational activities for children and adults.
- Create and set up activity spaces with materials and supplies for each session.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe and enjoyable manner.
Education
- High school diploma or GED
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.
- Experience using computers and software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Physical Requirements
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to be outdoors for long periods of time.
- Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including heat, sun, wind, and rain.
- Must be physically fit to lift, pull, and push items up to 50 pounds.
- Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.
