Regional Accounting Manager

Important international company on the AgTech - Post harvest is looking for a Regional Accounting Manager to join their team in Latinamerica.

What the Role Delivers

This position is responsible to plan, direct and coordinate the management accounting function for the Latin America Region, including participation in budgets and forecasts, interpreting financial results, monitoring cash flow, capital expenditure programs, management reporting systems development, special investigations/reports, operating efficiency studies, feasibility studies, managing investment portfolios, managing the regional accounting team and support Regional Finance Director on the general management of the finance area in the region. Also responsible for the preparation of accurate statutory financial reports.

Key Responsibilities In order of relative importance

� Overseeing the daily activities of the accounting team (internal and external service providers), ensuring that activities are completed timely and accurately.

� Ensure adherence of accounting policies and procedures and compliance with US GAAP and other statutory reporting requirements including monitoring the impact of changes in the business and external regulations. This includes the responsibility for maintaining all �secondary� ledgers to support local statutory reporting requirements.

� Evaluate, develop, and improve department controls, systems, and procedures that increase accuracy and efficiency.

� Assist with Corporate Treasury and management of regional Cash Flow Management

� Review and approval of account reconciliations. Ensures that the reported results comply with GAAP.

Tax Compliance - Review the tax information required quarterly in the 'Tax Package'; Responsible for tax planning and ensure annual corporate tax return filings; Coordinate and review the information required by tax authorities in case of a tax audit; Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

� Work in close coordination corporate Accounting and Tax and FP&A to prepare/support forecasts, financial plans and budgets, and understanding of budget to actuals needed for the regional businesses.

� Ensure adherence of the operating effectiveness of the Company�s internal controls over financial reporting and disclosures, including required compliance

� Coach and develop staff for professional development and ensure that the accounting function maintains technical competency.

What the Job Requires

� A Bachelor�s degree in Accounting

� Preference for licensed CPA or chartered accountant

� Ten or more years of relevant work experience

� Knowledge of accounting systems such as SAP, BPC, Power BI

Familiar with international business & accounting practices and processes including local statutory reporting and US GAAP

� Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel

� Excellent communication and leadership skills, including proficiency in English and Spanish

� Prior experience leading, developing and coaching a team preferred

�Location: altough this is an hybrid position, must be based in Chile (Santiago/Rancagua).
