Sime Darby Motor Group (NZ) Ltd

D365 Business Analyst

Christchurch | 18-Month Fixed Term | ERP Transformation

At Sime Motors, we’re driving a major digital evolution across our enterprise platforms. With over 22 automotive brands and 1,000+ people across New Zealand, our mission is simple: deliver smarter systems that power real-world performance.

We’re now looking for a D365 Business Analyst to join our Digital Technology Team in Christchurch and play a key role in our Drive:365 Programme — migrating our legacy DMS into Microsoft D365 Finance & Operations.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a D365 F&O Business Analyst to join us on an 18-month fixed-term contract based in Christchurch.

This role is part of our Drive:365 Transformation Programme, a major initiative to migrate our legacy Dealer Management System (DMS) to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.

Whether you’re an emerging Business Analyst looking to grow your career or an experienced professional ready to lead business engagement, this role offers a rare opportunity to work on a large-scale, business-critical transformation.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll act as the bridge between business and technology, helping shape how our future systems work.

  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyse and document requirements
  • Support the migration from legacy DMS (including Autoline) to D365 F&O
  • Facilitate workshops and translate business needs into clear, actionable solutions
  • Perform process mapping, gap analysis, and solution design
  • Support system testing, validation, and documentation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain and operations
  • Provide Tier 2–3 support for D365 F&O where required
  • Work closely with project teams to ensure successful delivery of the Drive:365 roadmap

What We’re Looking For

We’re open to a range of experience levels, but you’ll bring a mix of curiosity, communication, and analytical thinking.

Core Skills (All Levels)

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Solid analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
  • Experience or exposure to business process mapping and requirements gathering
  • Ability to build relationships and work closely with business stakeholders
  • Knowledge of BABOK principles or business analysis frameworks

Experience That Will Set You Apart

  • Experience with D365 Finance & Operations (highly desirable)
  • Exposure to Autoline or other DMS platforms
  • Background in ERP, CRM, or enterprise systems
  • Understanding of supply chain or distribution environments
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, or data analysis tools
  • Familiarity with testing, documentation, and process improvement

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a major transformation programme (Drive:365) with real business impact
  • Work in a modern Christchurch office in Waterloo Business Park
  • Join a team that values growth, collaboration, and practical outcomes
  • Opportunity to develop your career whether you’re early-stage or experienced
  • Supportive environment where your ideas actually shape the solution

Working Details

  • Full-time (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday
  • Christchurch-based role
