Location: Brooklyn, New York
Schedule: Full-Time
Salary: $85,000 annually

Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a dynamic, organized, and compassionate Human Resources Director to join our leadership team. This is a key role responsible for overseeing all HR operations, supporting staff and leadership, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a positive, engaged workplace culture within our skilled nursing facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, candidate coordination, and onboarding

  • Maintain accurate employee records, including attendance, leave tracking, and HR documentation

  • Partner with department leaders to coordinate employee evaluations and performance management initiatives

  • Interpret and enforce HR policies while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws

  • Serve as a liaison between employees, union representatives, and management to promote effective communication and resolution

  • Drive employee engagement initiatives to enhance morale and workplace culture

  • Oversee onboarding and training processes, ensuring all compliance requirements are met

  • Manage unemployment claims, conduct internal investigations, and provide recommendations to leadership

  • Support managers with hiring, coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions in alignment with company policies

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of Human Resources experience; healthcare or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) experience preferred

  • Strong knowledge of HR compliance, employee relations, and labor practices

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • High level of professionalism and discretion with confidential information

  • Experience with recruitment, training, and employee engagement initiatives
