Job Description

About the Department

Promote the operations of the Bullhead Belle and any associated events. This position is responsible for providing excellent guest service while responsibly preparing, mixing, and serving alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages to guests at the Bullhead Belle, Optimum, and Chaparral. Prepare and handle food orders directly from customers or Marketplace staff to ensure the needs of our guests are being met. Comply with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards and follow established food production programs and procedures, proper operation of a POS system, guest service, stocking, and preparing food and beverage products.

NOTE: Schedule may consist of early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

*MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT IS 19 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER

Position Duties

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of related professional experience.

LICENSE & TRAINING:

  • Valid State Driver’s License
  • Food handler’s card as provided through Mohave County Public Health, Environmental Health Division, ANSI-accredited food handler certificate/card, or a current food handler card issued by a County within Arizona
  • Bartender License or alcohol sell/server permit as provided through the Basic: Title 4 Alcohol Certification for Individuals On-premises certification as approved by the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control within 30 days of employment.
*Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.

Minimum Qualifications

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure high-quality products are fresh, ready, and available.
  • Interact with guests, take orders, prepare, and serve food and beverages as required.
  • Prepare food according to item specifications.
  • Prepare alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages according to item specifications and regulatory compliance.
  • Assess guest needs and preferences and make recommendations based on knowledge of menu, product, and services provided.
  • Understand and plan for the needs of future productions and mass productions based on trends, historical data, seasonality, and guest headcount.
  • Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails.
  • Utilizes proper procedures in serving alcoholic beverages (by checking identification of patrons prior to serving alcoholic beverages and verifying it meets legal drinking age and/or discontinuing service to intoxicated customers).
  • Actively enforces compliance with all food and beverage regulations set by Mohave County Health Department and Arizona Department of Liquor and License Control, and other federal, state, and local regulations for proper food and beverage temperature, storage, handling, and serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Ensure restaurant inventory and supplies have been replenished and restocked.
  • Ensure inventory management guidelines are being followed by stocking and rotating inventory levels and making necessary adjustments.
  • Perform the duties of a cashier, including but not limited to establishing transactions with guests, issuing receipts, processing returns, completing daily deposits, and/or other duties assigned.
  • Ensures established cash handling procedures are followed. Accurately reconciles cash register sales with daily sales reports; prepares accounting reports for receipts and deposits as directed. Develops operational and financial data and creates reports for the Marketplace General Manager and the Marketplace Assistant General Manager.
  • Maintain strong communications with the Marketplace General Manager and Marketplace Assistant General Manager, Leads, and co-workers.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with groups or individuals.
  • Display knowledge of safety rules and regulations as it relates to the Marketplace and enforce the same in a fair and consistent manner, and report unsafe activity and conditions.
  • Provide a fast and friendly guest experience.
  • Comply with and promote safe work practices.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitized, guest-ready environment.
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations and Arizona Liquor Laws.
  • Assist with the setup and teardown of tables, chairs, audiovisual equipment, and decorations for parties, events, meetings, and other scheduled activities.
  • Monitor occupancy levels.
  • Enforce rules and regulations as it pertains to the Marketplace.
  • Follows procedures for proper opening and closing of Bullhead Belle.
  • Represent the City of Bullhead City by always maintaining a positive, professional, and effective working relationship by providing exceptional customer service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a variety of weather conditions, including extremely hot weather with temperatures reaching 118-120 degrees duringthe  summer months. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud when outdoors at events.
