About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Lead Business Analyst to work for our client within the financial services sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Edinburgh or Cheshire


Our client is seeking a Lead Business Analyst to lead complex security remediation analysis across large-scale risk datasets and business areas. This role focuses on translating technical cyber findings into structured business outcomes, driving risk reduction, and supporting the transition of security capabilities into BAU operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end business analysis across complex security remediation initiatives
  • Analyse large-scale risk datasets to identify, prioritise, and drive resolution of high-risk items
  • Translate technical outputs from cyber and forensic teams into structured risks, requirements, and operating models
  • Define and document high-quality functional and non-functional requirements with full traceability
  • Develop As-Is and To-Be process models and detailed business workflows
  • Engage and challenge stakeholders across business, technology, and cyber teams to ensure alignment
  • Define operating models supporting transition to BAU and operational ownership
  • Lead workshops and provide direction to other analysts, ensuring consistency of delivery standards

    About You

    • Proven experience as a Lead Business Analyst in complex IT or security environment
    • Strong business analysis toolkit, including requirements engineering, process modelling, and data analysis
    • Experience working with large datasets to identify risk and drive actionable outcomes
    • Ability to engage with technical teams (engineering/cyber) and translate findings into business outputs
    • Strong stakeholder management, with confidence to challenge and influence at senior level
    • Experience producing BAU-ready documentation, including operating models and handover artefacts
    • Familiarity with Agile delivery and traceability across requirements and risks
    • Security or cyber experience desirable but not essential
    • Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in business analysis within technical or change environment
