TITLE: Small Vehicle Driver
LOCATION: Bennett School District REPORTS TO: Transportation Director
SUMMARY:
Bennett School District is seeking a responsible and safety-focused School Vehicle Operator to transport students in a small school vehicle designed to carry 14 passengers or fewer. The ideal candidate is committed to student safety, maintains a calm and professional demeanor, and exercises sound judgment while working independently.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Obtain First Aid and CPR Certification
- Must possess a valid Colorado Substitute Authorization or Teaching License
- Satisfactory completion of criminal background check GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reports to work on time and maintains good attendance
- Handles confidential information appropriately
- Exhibits a positive attitude toward school district policies/procedures
- Obeys all traffic laws
- Observes all mandatory safety regulations for vehicle
- Reports all accidents and completes required reports
- Checks the operating condition of the small vehicle before starting on a trip
- Reports any operational defect to immediate superior
- Maintains orderly conduct of student(s) in school vehicle
- Keeps interior and exterior of vehicle clean and neat
- Maintains records of mileage, students, time and incidents
- Must be able to pass COE written test
- Must complete COE online course for small vehicle
- Must be able to operate a small vehicle under difficult driving and road conditions.
