Job Description

SUMMARY 

  • Assist in designing and testing electrical components, equipment, and systems.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Compile and analyze operational, test and research data to establish Acceptance Test Standard for newly designed or modified equipment.
  • Prepare or direct preparation of product and system layout, schematics, and detail drawings.
  • Design electrical equipment using digital, analog and microprocessor based electronic components for military and commercial environments.
  • Assisting with schematic creation, wire run lists, and familiarity with various electronic and electrical components including mounting methods, heat sinking and location on printed circuit boards.
  • Coordinate and perform as necessary operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing when building prototypes.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
  • Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization (AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

 AS9100/ISO SPECIFIC DUTIES 

  • Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.
  • Understand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Complete all records required by Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Participate in Atec Improvement Machine (AIM) as appropriate.
  • Participate in AS9100/ISO training as required.
  • Cooperate with Auditors.
  • Report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

 EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 

  • Currently pursing a four-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering Technology, and/or Computer Engineering.

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

  • Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to work with electrical equipment.

 WORK ENVIRONMENT 

  • Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Extended work hours and/or travel may occasionally be required.
