Position Summary
Operators are responsible for conducting the daily operations of the WWTP. Operators manage, operate and maintain equipment to remove pollutants from industrial waste, ensuring compliance with operating permit. The operator monitors control systems (SCADA), adjust chemical feed rates, perform laboratory testing, operates and repairs pumps and valves, operate filter press and other duties as assigned. The operator completes all daily worksheets and logs. Good math skills are a plus.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Operate , monitor and maintain treatment equipment and systems
- Collect and analyze samples to determine best treatment options
- Adjust chemical feed pumps meet regulatory requirements.
- Record operational data to prepare reports for regulatory compliance.
- Preform Preventative Maintenance.
- Respond to equipment alarms, system irregularities and emergency situations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Mechanical Aptitude with pumps, valves and plant equipment.
- Familiarity with treatment processes such as metals precipitation and dewatering.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills
- Critical thinking and problem solving under pressure.
