Job Description

Master Electrician – Assist the Technical Director and Master Carpenter with the supervision of students in lab classes, work-study and in production for all WCT shows.

Typically 4 main stage musicals, 4 supported black box productions and 4 workshops.

The Master Electrician will supervise students as part of the general production program, supervise the hang and focus of all Wagner College Theatre (WCT) productions, attend tech and dress rehearsals, repair and maintain the electric equipment, supervise the WCT productions in performance (split with Master Carpenter) and assist the TD in supervision of student crews but also may work other production areas like painting and carpentry. 

Training and experience with a wide range of theatrical lighting from mid 20th Century to current, ability to diagnose malfunctions in complete lighting systems and implement repairs as needed, BA or equivalent production experience, good communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse group of people are required. The position begins August 17th and is for the academic year (9 months). Salary and benefits including health insurance are available.  Please include resume, cover letter and list of references.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $45,000.
